About Layered Nutrition and Dietetics

About Courtney

Layered Nutrition and Dietetics provides a friendly and non-judgemental space to explore your nutrition needs. Courtney is an experienced Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician.

Courtney works within a weight neutral framework and uses evidence-based approaches to providing care when working with young people and adults on ways to improve their relationships with food and eating well to support mental and physical health and wellbeing.

She has experience working within multidisciplinary teams including with clients, medical professionals, mental health clinicians, allied health professionals, carers and social supports.

Courtney began her career with an interest in sports nutrition and eating to support peak performance. Further experience allowed her to grow a deep understanding of the different ways we experience food as individuals and some of the challenges we face to nourishing our bodies.

Courtney understands there are multiple layers forming who we are and how we live, that come into play when accessing adequate nutrition.

Meet Dott

We welcome Dott, the newest member of the Layered Nutrition and Dietetics Team. Dott is a 2 almost 3 year-old Border Collie. After completing her therapy dog training with Courtney in September 2025, she has been working with and supporting our Clients in our office in Albury.

Dott has a calm and gentle presence that she brings to the room. She enjoys sitting beside you and getting plenty of pats. She also enjoys interacting with people and playing with her toys. Dott does her work and play with the most warm and welcoming smile.

When she's not working, Dott loves to play at the park, chasing around her buddy Ian (another wonderful Border Collie) but lets him do the ball collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us at info@layerednd.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A Dietitian is someone who has graduated with an accredited dietetics degree from an Australian university (or an overseas equivalent). An Accredited Practising Dietitian (or APD) is someone who meets criteria to call themselves a Dietitian and has also committed to ongoing training and education each year and adheres to the Dietitian’s Australia code of conduct.

How is this different from a Nutritionist?

Currently in Australia, the nutrition profession isn't regulated which means anyone is able to call themselves a Nutritionist, regardless of qualifications or experience while you must have an approved dietetics qualification to be a Dietitian.

A Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC) is someone who has met the criteria and minimum standards for qualifications, knowledge, training and professional development required to provide safe and effective eating disorder care.

Professions that can hold the credential include  Dietitians, Mental Health Professionals and GPs.

Referrals are not required for an appointment.

Yes, you can bring a support person to appointments if you feel this would be beneficial to your care.

During your first appointment with us, we will discuss privacy and consent including how we collect and use your information and who else is involved in our care. We will discuss what you are hoping to achieve during your time with us and what your goals of care are.

Initial assessments and long appointments (60 minutes) cost $180, review appointments (30 minutes) are $90. Clients with referrals under Medicare ECP/TCA or EDTP are eligible for a rebate for each session allocated under these referrals. Eligibility for a rebate under a private health fund will depend on your level of cover. I would encourage to discuss this with your health fund prior to scheduling an appointment.

This will depend on your individual circumstances and goals of care. We will regularly review your goals of care and set new goals as needed.

If attending appointments in person, our building is located off AMP Lane in Albury. The entry door to the clinic is off AMP Lane, to the left of Dash Espresso Bar. When you arrive for your appointment you will need to key in the code provided by your Dietitian.

Please do not dial the code more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment time, as we may be in session with someone else. If you arrive early there are a number of lovely shops and cafes in the lane.

The closest parking is located in the Volt Lane multistorey car park with 3 hour and all day parking spots available.

Dott is present for sessions at our office in Albury however, she does not attend work every day. Before your first appointment at Layered Nutrition and Dietetics Courtney will talk to you about having Dott present in your sessions. A Consent for Animal Assisted Therapy Form will be completed with you.

Appointment reminder texts will let you know whether Dott is going to be present in the office at the time of your appointment. You must let us know if you do not want Dott to be present for your appointment.

If you have any further questions about working with Dott please reach-out to us at info@layerednd.com.au or on 0491 378 259.
